What can I do as a consumer to reduce the impact this item will have during its use and after its use? What can I do as a producer to minimise the environmental impact my product will have? Organic Cotton has a better impact environmentally than standard and allows farmers to grow other crops alongside their cotton. Hurrah it’s Midweek!! How’s your week been? It’s a busy one here, but I do like to think of this mantra and take 5 minutes out. Preferably outside in the middle of the forest I live near. Nature is perfect for balancing and reviving. Even introducing natural elements into our home environment can prompt a calming surrounding. When I was studying for my Masters in Interior and Spatial design I become really interested in Biophilic Architecture. Biophilic is the supposed attraction to nature by humans and it’s positive effects. Whilst the design of an environment has to meet certain principles to be considered Biophilic design, for me the inclusion of even the smallest natural elements in my home and on my studio desk space is really important to me and is calming.
